Cognitec introduces the next version of its FaceVACS-Entry product, a slim, light-weight device suitable for installations in eGates and kiosks. The technology takes standards-compliant biometric photos, and compares the images to digital images retrieved from ID documents or databases. Instant camera positioning, active lighting and responsive user guidance lead to optimal capturing conditions, accurate verification results and fast processing times. The system serves all applications that require the acquisition of standards-compliant photos and the verification of probe images against a live image, including border control scenarios and entry/exit programs.Cognitec's FaceVACS-VideoScan technology can add another security layer to border control and airport security procedures by checking watch lists in real time and providing instant notifications when a known person is seen by a camera. The software also detects crowds and measures waiting times in specific areas to prompt the redirection of people traffic.
